Ashley Hethke Awarded GAHHS Employee of the Month for March
March 14, 2012
Ashley Hethke has been awarded the Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services (GAHHS) March Employee of the Month. Ashley grew up in Gilman until she attended the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University in Normal, IL.
Ashley is a registered nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and while she has only been a member of the GAHHS family for a year-and-a-half she has a wealth of experience from Provena Covenant Hospital, OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, and Riverside Medical Center. Ashley said GAHHS maybe smaller, but working here gives her opportunities she never had at a larger hospital.
“After working at larger hospitals, I really appreciate the small community atmosphere of GAH,” said Ashley. “I think GAH gives me the opportunity to give my patients the time and nursing care that they deserve.”
It is this ability to provide the very best care to her patients that Ashley really enjoys about her job.
“Nursing is a difficult but rewarding profession. I like that I can make frightening and difficult situations even the slightest bit easier for my patients, said Ashley.
Ashley and her husband Keith currently live in Buckley with their dogs, Jerry Tucker and Mollie Mae. In her free time she enjoys being with her family and friends. When not with them, you can find Ashley running, reading, cooking, or digging in her garden.
