Mental Health

The Behavioral Wellness Center is an outpatient behavioral health clinic that provides outpatient psychiatric and psychotherapeutic services. We care for patients of varying ages with a wide range of behavioral health issues, including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, psychosis, behavioral disorders, childhood disorders, etc.  The Behavioral Wellness Center is located at #4 Doctors Park in Gibson City and is open from 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday.

Tele Psychiatry Services at the Behavioral Wellness Center

Many people have asked, “What is Tele Psychiatry?”  The simple answer is that it is similar to any other psychiatry services, except that the patient and the psychiatrist are not in the same room.  Through the use of technology the patient and psychiatrist are connected by a video conference, allowing the same experience if they were in the same room together.  Patients will see and speak to the psychiatrist over a large television screen.  The Behavioral Wellness Center utilizes a HIPPA Compliant conferencing program to provide these services.  During each Tele Psychiatry session, an on-site Tele Psychiatry coordinator will sit in the room.

By utilizing Tele Psychiatry, the Behavioral Wellness Center is able to recruit highly qualified psychiatrists to provide psychiatric care to the communities we serve.   At the Behavioral Wellness Center Trilok Shah, M.D., Jason Chang, M.D., Badr Javed, M.D. and Joy Urubusi, M.D. have been seeing patients of all ages with great success utilizing Tele Psychiatry.

Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

In addition to Tele Psychiatry services, the Behavioral Wellness Center also offers on-site psychiatric services for adults.  Martin Repetto, M.D., Ph.D. specializes in Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry.  The Behavioral Wellness Center utilizes the skills and expertise of Dr. Repetto to treat those patients who may desire or benefit more from the care of an on-site physician.

Along with psychiatric services, the Behavioral Wellness Center also utilizes the expertise of on-site Licensed Clinical Therapists Christina Hoppin, MS, LCPC, Kenna Dunlap Johnson, MSW, LCSW, Trisha Nelson, MSW, LCSW, Ingrid Wheeler, MSW, LCSW and Sara Williamson, MSW, LCSW.  These providers see patients of all ages for outpatient psychotherapy including individual, family, and marital therapy.  Each therapist brings their own skill set and expertise to provide individualized treatment planning and care for each patient that they see.

In order to serve other GAHHS communities, the Behavioral Wellness Center also provides the services of our Licensed Clinical Therapists at our other clinic locations including Family Heath Care of Fairbury, the Family Health Clinic of Farmer City, the Onarga Clinic, the Hoopeston Clinic and Prairie Family Medicine and Obstetrics.  For a complete schedule of BWC Therapists in your area contact the Behavioral Wellness Center at 217-784-4540.
