Joe Marr, Jr. has been awarded the Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services (GAHHS) February Employee of the Month. Joe, originally from Akron Ohio, moved to Gibson City three and a half years ago.
“My wife and I feel truly grateful to have found such a wonderful town to raise our family in and to be a part of,” said Joe.
Joe has been an End User Computer Analyst with the GAHHS IT Department for a little over a year now, but he has over 17 years of experience in the copier repair industry. During this time he has earned multiple certifications from Ricoh, Minolta, Xerox, Toshiba and Sharp. Currently, he is studying for his A+, Net+ and Healthcare Certifications.
When asked what he enjoys about his job, Joe replied the learning experience. “Each day, with the help of my mentors, I am able to grow and expand my knowledge, which in turn furthers my success,” said Joe.
Joe said that while he is grateful to continue learning, he’s thankful for the opportunity to help others. “GAHHS is such an important aspect of this community and I get to be a part of that. Each day I am given the opportunity to provide superior service to GAHHS, which in turn enables GAHHS to provide superior patient care.”
Joe enjoys spending his free with his wife, Ashley, and their two sons: Joe III (4) and Liam (2). “I love working with my sons and helping them learn as much as possible,” said Joe.
