Starting Saturday, August 31, 2013, the Paxton Clinic will begin offering weekend hours to provide increased accessibility and convenience in healthcare options to the residence of Paxton and the surrounding communities.
The Paxton Clinic will be open on Saturdays from 8:00am to 7:00pm and on Sundays from 8:00am to Noon. These additional hours are for patients requiring non-emergent medical attention.
“There are emergency rooms available in every direction from Paxton, for emergency situations,” said Rob Schmitt, CEO at Gibson Area Hospital. “We want to expand patient’s access to medical care for non-emergent care in Paxton. In most cases, a weekend trip to the emergency room wouldn’t be necessary if the patient had access to a primary care provider.”
For life threatening situations and other medical emergencies, the community should continue to call 911.
