On Monday, November 11, 2013, at 7:00pm, three Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services (GAHHS) physicians will be honored by the Illinois Rural Health Association (IRHA) at the Railside Golf Club in Gibson City.
GAHHS Family Practice Physicians David Hagan, M.D., Mark Spangler, M.D. and Orthopaedic Surgeon William Price, M.D. will be presented with the 2013 Rural Physician of Excellence Award by the IRHA for their dedication and services to improve the quality and access to care in rural medically underserved areas in Illinois.
GAHHS Orthopaedic Advanced Practice Nurse, Lori Fitton, and Ambulance and Safety Director, Joe Higgins, will also be honored at the awards reception. In August, at the Annual IRHA Education Conference in Effingham, IL, Fitton was awarded Rural Health Practitioner of the Year and Higgins was awarded the EMS Professional Award.
This is the third year in a row that a GAHHS Physician has been awarded the Rural Physician of Excellence Award.
