Gibson Area Hospital Baby Central welcomed Hannah Verna May Henning as the first baby of 2014. Hannah arrived January 1, 2014 at 4:05 a.m. weighing 5 pounds 10 ounce and measuring 18.5 inches long. Hannah was welcomed into this world by her parents Dexter Henning and Kelly Wendel, from Gibson City, as well as her brother Trey Wendel. Hannah was delivered by Kathrine Austman, M.D.
The family was presented with a gift basket filled with baby items donated by Gibson Area Hospital OB Department. The basket contained three outfits, receiving blankets, onesies, booties, baby bath and lotion, thermometer, nasal bulb syringe, photo album, first photos of the new family and baby, a stuffed bear, $100 Gibson Bucks from the GAH Administration and $25 Gibson Bucks from the “Gibson Girls. The basket also contained a crocheted blanket donated by Auxiliary volunteers that crochet and knit blanket and hats for the babies born at GAH and champagne flutes donated by the GAH Auxiliary Gift Shop.
