Gibson Area Hospital Administration and the Onarga Clinic health care providers will host an Open House on Thursday March 27, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 912 West Seminary in Onarga. The public is invited to meet the Onarga Clinic staff and welcome Dr. Doug Lanoue to the Gibson Area Hospital medical staff. Tours of the clinic, which opened in November 2013 to provide a patient-friendly facility with convenient parking and more space for patient comfort, will also be offered at the event.
Dr. Lanoue joins Dr. Benjamin Brewer and Family Nurse Practitioners Sue Gray and Kathryn Hamblen in Onarga. He is welcomed to the Gibson Area Hospital staff of physicians who serve the system’s family healthcare clinics throughout DeWitt, Ford, Iroquois, Livingston, and Vermillion counties.
Dr. Lanoue completed undergraduate studies at Monmouth College, medical training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, and residency at Mercy Family Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Lanoue found his niche in rural family healthcare during his preceptorship in Iroquois County and has since established himself in family practice medicine in order to care for patients of all ages. From wellness and prevention to the treatment of chronic and acute illness, Dr. Lanoue’s scope of practice also includes maternity care, a service for which he prepared through a fellowship in Maternal Child Health in Oak Park, Illinois.
Refreshments from Cornerstone Café will be served from 5 to 7 pm. There will also be opportunities to win door prizes for gift cards redeemable at various area businesses, as well as a Heartland Spa Package and Travel Discoveries certificate.
