Elite Performance Athlete named HOIC Athlete of the Year

GCMS Senior Ross Royal, son of Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services HR Director Ty Royal, was named the Heart of Illinois Conference (HOIC) Male Athlete of the Year. Ross was chosen from all male athletes nominated in the HOIC conference.

This award is given to the male and female athlete of the year in the HOIC conference. The criteria are based on athletic performances, recommendations and personal interviews with the conference panel.

This award, including a scholarship, is sponsored by GAHHS’ sports enhancement service, Elite Performance. Ross was trained by Elite Performance’s Certified Athletic Trainer Tim Leonard. This is the second time a GCMS and Elite Performance student athlete has received the HOIC Athlete of the Year scholarship. In 2012, Sydni Meunier was the Female Award winner.

GAHHS and Elite Performance would like to congratulate Ross for his achievements on the field, on the court and on the track. His four year commitment to GCMS teams and his personal commitment to getting better every day with hard work and dedication is an example of what goal setting and Elite Performance athletes strive for and can accomplish.
