Karen Wyant, of rural Ellsworth, has been awarded the Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services (GAHHS) May Employee of the Month.
For the past 32 years Karen, Clerical Coordinator and RN in the Emergency Department, has been a vital member of the GAHHS family. A Trauma Nurse Specialist and Certified Emergency Nurse, Karen finds the hospital setting exciting and fulfilling, but she truly enjoys helping others.
“It is absolutely great to be able to help people feel better”, says Karen. “I enjoy helping them learn how to take care of themselves and their families.”
Karen credits her tenure at GAHHS to the fantastic team in the Emergency Department and a supportive family, which includes four children and seven grandchildren.
In her free time Karen enjoys spending time with her family and working on her projects.
“When not at the hospital I am watching my grandchildren, working in my garden, raising chickens and anything else that shows up with the kids,” said Karen.
