The Gibson Area Hospital Auxiliary has nine scholarships to award this year. There are two scholarships from The Verna Buck Scholarships worth $2000.00 apiece. These scholarships for are nursing only. There is another Verna Buck Scholarship for $1000.00 also for nursing only.
There are two scholarships worth $2000.00 from the GAH Auxiliary. These scholarships are for school work dedicated to any medical fields.
There are two other scholarships, each for $1000.00, from the Arthur and Ane Jensen Noland Family Scholarship Fund and the William and Viola Garrett Scholarship Fund. These scholarships are for those who live in Ford County or who have graduated from a Ford County school. They may be awarded for any school work leading to work in any medical field.
There is one scholarship awarded by the scholarship committee from the CEDF Foundation for $2000.00 for nursing only.
The last scholarship comes from the Christina Medrano, M.D. Scholarship fund. It is worth $1000.00 and is for any work in the medical field. It has no other restrictions.
It is hoped that the recipients will return to the Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services area and work, if positions are available.
The scholarship applications may be obtained online at www.gibsonhospital.org or from the guidance office in area schools. You may also get an application by calling Sue Walker at 784-8705. She will also answer any questions you may have. Please be sure to download BOTH documents that you need to sign.
The deadline for the receipt of the application is March 11, 2015. Notification to scholarship recipients will be made prior to April 13, 2015.
