Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services is proud to announce that Rob Schmitt, CEO, has been named the Gibson Area Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year at the Annual Chamber dinner held in Gibson City. Rob Schmitt’s leadership abilities inspire others to follow him, and is one of the reasons he has served as Chairman for several local organizations. Rob is a leader who has a true passion for helping others and volunteering. He serves the community by assisting with the food pantry, volunteering as a football coach, and in the past has served as an officer with the GCMS band boosters and as a Ford County youth soccer coach. He is an active member on the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Ford County Knights of Columbus, and a valuable volunteer at all Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church functions, and of course, Gibson Area Chamber of Commerce. As CEO at Gibson Area Hospital, Rob encourages the 700+ employees to get involved in the community and volunteer for projects that interest them. Mr. Schmitt is a person who truly makes a difference. His service is unending and extends across all areas of Ford County and the surrounding areas. Not only is he a member within these organizations, but he has humbly received accolades for his commitment to the clubs and community. This award marks the third time in five years a difference maker from GAHHS has received this award, when Robin Rose and Miranda Leonard also received the Citizen of the Year honor in 2012 and 2015.
