Rose selected as one of Becker's Healthcare 143 Women to Know in Healthcare

Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services ( GAHHS ) Chief Operating Officer/ Chief Clinical Officer Robin Rose was selected for the third consecutive year by Becker's Healthcare on its annual list of "Women to know" in hospital and healthcare systems. The list is published in Becker's Hospital Review, a trade publication for the healthcare industry. Becker's describes the leader through her accomplished career: "A passionate advocate of health care access for underserved rural communities, serving as past president of the Illinois Rural Healthcare Association and became the first woman to receive the Rural Illinois Champion award from the Governor's Rural Affairs Council in 2014. She was also the only recipient of the Louis Gorin National Rural Health Award representing the state of Illinois. Ms. Rose also serves on the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network and the National Rural Health Association Rural Health Congress. "This is a great honor. It has been my professional and personal mission to have a positive impact in the rural health setting because I am from rural America" says Rose. She hails from a small mining community of Hi Hat, Kentucky. She started her nursing career working in heart transplant and cardiac services at Jewish Hospital where she continued her career transitioning into management at Norton and Baptist Healthcare systems. In 2004, Rose and her daughter Bella relocated to Illinois where she continues to be involved at the local, state and national levels to improve quality healthcare for residents in rural communities.
